Made during a residency at Listhus Art Space in Ólafsfjörður, Iceland (March–April 2016), in collaboration with Héctor Guerrero.
The project expands a digital photograph from its smallest units, the pixel and its colour value. Each photograph is analysed and re-imagined through digital and analogue media that put the data inside the image on display. The series Paisaje binario belongs to this project. It is an early instance of the pixel-level thinking that runs through all of Santos's later landscape work.
